At least 36 terrorists were killed in military operations in the last five days in northern and central Sinai in Egypt. Officials gave this information today. This action was taken in a comprehensive campaign launched in early February for the elimination of terrorism in northern and central Sinai. Egyptian military forces said in a statement that about 345 suspected terrorists were arrested, including many wanted terrorists.
During one of these raids, an officer and three raiders were killed while a non-commissioned officer and five jawans were injured. Armed forces said that 386 hideouts of terrorists were destroyed during the operation. It was informed in the statement that 17 vehicles and 67 unauthorized motorbikes were seized and destroyed.
