Change in IPL program, now Punjab will play four matches in Indore

Chandigarh International Airport will be closed due to expansion from May 12 to 31. In view of this, the program of the 11th session of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been changed. Now Kings XI Punjab will play three out of seven domestic matches in Mohali while its four matches will be held in Indore. Earlier, it was played three matches in Indore while four matches were played in Mohali. Not only this, Kings XI will start its domestic season from Mohali in place of Indore.

Dainik Jagran had already told that due to the closure of the Chandigarh airport, Kings XI Punjab has asked the IPL Governing Council to make changes in the program which is now assumed. BCCI's acting president CK Khanna confirmed that the demands of Kings XI have been accepted and its impact has not been affected due to the rest of the teams, so their domestic matches have been swapped. Earlier, Kings XI Punjab were to play their first three home matches at Indoor's Holkar Stadium on April 15, 19 and 23, but now these three matches will be in Mohali. On the same day, the domestic matches of Punjab, which will be held in Mohali on 04, 06, 12 and 14, will now be held at Holkar Stadium.

Kings XI Punjab had earlier written to the letter that it would not be possible for the players to come to Mohali in the event of the closure of the Chandigarh airport from May 2 to 31. The first was being thought of a change in matches between 12 and 14 May, but it has to make changes in the entire IPL program. This was followed by exchange of matches between Indore and Mohali. Surely this has benefitted the Indurkas because there, the viewers turn to the stadium and come back to the test match. In such a scenario, there will be a win-win deal for the Kings XI Punjab as well as the visitors, because every match in Indore is guaranteed to be a house full.

Why stand in Lucknow-Rajkot stand ??

In the IPL Governing Council meeting, the new Navalay Ikonah Stadium in Lucknow and the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium of Rajkot were placed in standby. The reason behind this is that due to the petitions filed against the use of water despite the drought two years ago, the BCCI had to shift the IPL matches. This time too there is a similar petition in the NGT. Apart from this, the Ombudsman has removed the chairman and secretary of the Hyderabad Cricket Association. IPL governing council and BCCI wants if two stadiums to be relocated to matches for some reason have already been kept ready.
